Welcome to the Washington County Democrats Women’s Caucus

Mission:  The Mission of the Washington County Democratic Women’s Caucus is to be an inclusive organization that works to eliminate discrimination based on gender, ability, ethnicity, religion, or sexual orientation.  We will work toward attaining equality for all women, ensuring reproductive freedom, educational opportunities, and career choices. We will recruit, train, and support women at all levels of elected office.

Officers:  Sarah Harris, Chair, Sue Cocking, Vice Chair, Corliss Carleton, Recording Secretary

Volunteer In The Spotlight:  This is the first in a series of profiles of the women who volunteer with the Washington County Democrats.  Some have worked with the Party for a number of years; some are new to volunteering.  All contribute many hours’ work, and a great deal of energy to making a difference.

Our first Volunteer in the Spotlight is Corliss Carleton!
Corliss is a new member of the WashCo Dems, having acquired her drive to advocate for change in our political situation after the defeat of Hillary Clinton in the November 2016 Presidential Election.  This devastating blow to both Democrats and feminists was too much to take quietly, so she activated her advocacy “jeans” and marched into 2017.
She is a member of the Dems 101 Training Committee, the Communications Committee, Recording Secretary for the Women’s Caucus, a PCP, and a newly initiated Neighborhood Leader.  Her background in designed was the creative force behind the Women’s Caucus logo.
Corliss also supports the WashCo Dems at many events.  She participated in the Hillsboro 4th of July Parade and worked the WashCo Dems booth at the Tualatin Carwfish Festival.  You will occasionally see her photojournalism on the Dems Facebook page, most recently highlighting Sen. Ron Wyden’s Town Hall at Hazelbrook Elementary School on August 9th.
Welcome, Corliss!
