Washington County Democrats to Hear

Beaverton Mayor, Hold Special Election

 

The mayor of Beaverton, Rob Drake, a candidate for re-election this year, will speak at the Washington County Democratic Party Central Committee meeting Jan. 23 at the Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue facility, 20665 SW Blanton, Aloha.  Social time is at 6:30 p.m.  The meeting starts at 7 p.m.

Additionally, a special election will be held for the female alternate position for the First Congressional District.

Drake has been Beaverton mayor since 1993.  He earlier earned a BS degree from Portland State University and worked toward an MBA.  Previously, he held management positions in business and has done extensive volunteer work in Beaverton and Washington County.  The Beaverton mayoral race is contested.

Additional at the meeting, Washington County legislators will speak, and committee chairs will make reports.  ###
