Candidates for Secretary of State, Attorney General To Speak to Washington
County Democrats

 

A candidate
for Oregon secretary of state and a candidate
for state attorney general will speak at the Washington County Democratic Party
Central Committee meeting Nov. 28 at the Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue
facility, 20665 SW Blanton, Aloha. Social time is at 6:30 p.m. The meeting starts at 7 p.m.

Sen. Kate
Brown (D-District 21, Portland),
the majority leader and also running for secretary of state, began her career
in the Oregon Legislature in 1991, serving two terms in the House and then
elected to the Senate in 1996. In 1998,
she was elected Democratic leader, and when Democrats took control in 2004,
Brown became Oregon's
first woman senate majority leader. She
is an attorney.

Rep. Greg
Macpherson (D-District 38, Lake Oswego),
a candidate for attorney general, is in his third term in the House. A native of Corvallis,
he grew up on a dairy farm in Linn
County. Currently, he is chair of the House Judiciary
Committee. He is an attorney.

Additionally at the meeting, other Washington County legislators will speak, and
committee chairs will make reports. ###
