Beaverton Cares & NAC Campaign to seek donations for Beaverton School District Homeless Students:

We want to raise awareness and help raise donations for the estimated 1220 homeless students in the Beaverton area (unfortunately the number increases each week).

 Fundraising:

The funds raised will be used for the following:

-Gift cards for clothing, personal hygiene items, schools supplies and food

-Scholarship Fund for homeless students- on to post secondary education (vocational or college)

-Education fees- SAT classes, college applications, sport fees, graduation gowns, etc.

-Financial assistance for helping kick off the Pilot Program for housing the homeless students through partnership with Beaverton School District and Ecumenical Ministries (in the preliminary stage of being set up)

Donations:  (all items to be dropped off at the Neighborhood Program in City Hall, with the exception of furniture/beds- to be coordinated with Love Inc.)

-gently used bedroom furniture, beds

-linens and towels

-clothes

-toiletries

-food

-other items a high school student may need

(most of these items will be donated to the Family Resource Center/Clothes Closet)

Money donations can be sent to either the NACs or the City of Beaverton’s Neighborhood Program (checks should be made payable to the City of Beaverton).  We will provide a charitable donations receipt for tax purposes.

Items donated can be dropped off at City Hall (4755 SW Griffith Drive in the Neighborhood Program, Room 130), unless it is furniture/beds.  Furniture/beds can be donated by calling Love Inc. at (503)336-5946 Monday thru Wednesday from 9am to 12pm.
