Measure 66 and 67
I would actually vote no because you have to think about the poor people in the community and students that need their education. Our future generation needs education to survive in everyday life. It is important to know about culture and history. Also to remember the struggle through out history.
~hello there~
I'f you care about education and all that is on the line you'd vote yes probably what mean't pure oops. I myself depend on it to go through so I can continue to have a oregon mentor brokerage to stay with which helps developmental disability people with independent living skills and getting out in the community getting more productive! Well peace and my best wishes to good health and a great year 2010 full of opportunity!! :) ;) sincerley Jason Pyktel
measures 66 & 67
Voting "no" will effectively eliminate the funding needed for the schools. I believe you want to vote "yes" DO tax the rich and corporations a bit more so that much needed funding DOES go to the schools.
Vote YES on 66 & 67!
Annabee is correct, a YES vote on 66 & 67 will preserve our iocal schools and many important government functions like law enforcement and emergency services that we all depend on.
These measures will slightly increase the marginal tax on the wealthiest three percent of taxpayers, reduce the tax obligation on unemployed Oregonians, and increase the corporate minimum tax from $10 (unchange since 1931!) to $150. Fun Fact: If the $10 minimum had kept up with inflation since 1931, it would be over $500 - seems to me that M67 is quite a bargain.
If you value good schools, strong public safety, and protecting our most vulnerable citizens, VOTE YES on 66 & 67!
Yes on 66/67 to Protect Oregon
Like the rest of the country, Oregon is feeling the hurt of this financial crisis. Because over 90% of the state’s budget goes to education, health care, and public safety, this crisis could have a major impact on vital services.
The plan:
--Increase the $10 corporate minimum income tax for the first time since 1931. The new minimum will start at $150.
--Increase the marginal tax rate on corporate profits above $250,000 by 1.3% (above $10 million in 2013)
--Increase the marginal tax rate on personal income above $250,000 for couples by 1.8%
97.5% of taxpayers will NOT see their taxes increased
What does it mean? A corporation making $260,000 in profit will pay an extra $130 in taxes (1.3% of the $10,000 above $250,000). A corporation declaring no profits will pay a minimum tax of about one tenth of one percent of Oregon sales. A couple making $260,000 in taxable income will pay an extra $180 (1.8% of the taxable income above $250,000).
These reforms protect nearly $1 billion in vital services like education, health care and public safety. These funds preserve class sizes, save jobs for teachers, provide seniors with in-home care, and provide health care for thousands of Oregonians through the Oregon Health Plan. In this time of economic crisis, we must protect those who have been hit the hardest--seniors, children and the unemployed--without putting more of a burden on the middle class.

Welfare for the Wealthy and Outsourced Corpses
Although I'm not a millionaire, I gladly join the American non-profit group of millionaires against the Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans. Since when do elite groups like those who want this corporate welfare and welfare for Oregon's richest families to continue be open to the public for a vote??
I'll be the first to put up a banner to tax these groups oooohh sooo much more! After all, most people earning more than $500,000 annually or a family earning more than a million--already had their tax debts vastly reduced via all their loopholes. As a country we've moved from taxing the wealthiest "leftovers" (after taking out all taxable income via loopholes) from 72+% during the Eisenhower years to less than 23% further reduced by Bush et. al. of today.
We will find out which corporations remain loyal to American citizenry by looking at corporations who remain in the U.S. and continue to provide more jobs, and pay livable wages to our citizenry along with strong union allegiance! The U.S. Chamber of Commerce sorely needs to review its total support of the "big corpses or corporations" vs. the small business owner whom they've kicked around for far too long! In their review, they will see why all other nations in the G20 Summit Group ARE DOING WELL AND RECOVERING FROM THIS RECESSION__AND THE U.S. IS NOT RECOVERING! All other nations demand that their corporations stay in their nations and that citizenry buy ONLY from their manufactred goods produced in their own country thereby keeping wealth within that nation.
Soo--"listen up" Les Schwab--stop bringing in Chinese tires to replace good old American made tires! All Americans NEED to insist on buying whatever goods we can find that are still manufactured in the U.S.
