Due Process Resolution - Passed June 27, 2007

A Resolution Passed Unanimously by the Central Committee of the Washington County Democrats on June 27, 2007:

Whereas the United States Constitution guarantees detailed due process rights to all people subject to the authority of any entity existing directly or indirectly by reason of said constitution, and

Whereas protection of these due process rights is a key responsibility of the citizenry's elected and appointed officials,

Therefore, the Central Committee of the Washington County Democrats affirms its expectation that our elected and appointed officials shall ensure that all people subject to the authority of any entity existing directly or indirectly by reason of the United States Constitution receive their constitutionally mandated due process rights and that protection of these due process rights shall be a matter of the highest priority for all said officials, regardless of their other responsibilities.
