Washington County Democrats to Hear

Candidates for Secretary of State

Three candidates for secretary of state will speak at the Washington County Democratic Party Central Committee meeting March 26 at the Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue facility, 20665 SW Blanton, Aloha.  Social time is at 6:30 p.m.  The meeting starts at 7 p.m.

The candidates are: Sen. Kate Brown, D-District 21 (Portland), Sen. Rick Metsger, D-District 26 (Mt. Hood), and Sen. Vicki Walker, D-District 7 (Eugene).  A fourth candidate, Sen. Brad Avakian, D- District 17 (NE Washington and NW Multnomah Counties), spoke to the group in February.  He expects to be present at the meeting but does not plan to speak.

Additionally at the meeting, the county leadership will present the 2008 strategic plan, and members will vote on the annual budget.  Also, other Washington County legislators will speak, and committee chairs will make reports.  ###
