Volunteer/Work for Elections Office in General Election

The Washington County Elections Office has temporary positions open for workers in the November general election. It is important to have a balance of Democrats, republicans and other parties working at the polls. In the last election, the republicans outnumbered the Democrats by a wide margin. Let's remedy that situation! These are temporary, paid positions, or workers can volunteer to work for free.

Available positions:

  1. Election Board
    Workers will inspect, open and prepare ballots to be counted. The work is not physically demanding, but is fast paced, repetitive and requires attention to detail. Min age 18.
  2. Drop Site Worker
    Workers will assist voters who wish to deposit their ballots at ballot drop-sites located through out the county. Requires some lifting and standing. Min age 16 (working with adult.)
  3. Runner
    Workers assist in the office to retrieve and lift trays of ballots between tables and storage bins. Fast paced with trays that can weigh up to 12 pounds. Students are encouraged to apply. Min age 16.
